Society for Spring Creek Forest -
September 2nd Our speaker is Jim Varnum, Regional Master Naturalist. Jim will give us an enlightening talk on prairies and prairie restoration. I think you will enjoy it and find it extremely informative. October 7th. Dale Clark, President of The Dallas County Lepidopterists' Society will talk to us on butterflies . . .we hope there are enough chairs to go around for this event! The Dallas County Lepidopterists' Society was established in 1995. Its purpose is to provide a forum where people may gather to share an interest in butterflies and moths, whether that interest takes the form of collecting, gardening, photography, study or casual observation. November 4th. Michael Smith, a co-founder of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Herpetological Society has agreed to talk to us on reptiles Field herping, like birding and butterfly watching is a very rewarding thing to do. Please don't miss this talk! Wear long pants and sturdy shoes (no sandals) for protection from poison ivy and insects. A long-sleeved shirt will help protect from thorny bushes. If you have them, bring loppers, short-handled tree saw, chain saw.
