Lake Ray Hubbard

Christmas Bird Count 2007

Greetings to all participants from the National Audubon 2006 Lake Ray Hubbard Christmas Count! As you know we had a great count last year with 106 species for Count Day and 108 for count week! Let’s try to beat this for the 108th Count if we have enough participants bringing in rarities from the Lake, city parks, wetlands, riparian areas, and flyovers. The LRH CBC is set for December 18th, Sunday...the day after the Dallas CBC at White Rock Lake.  Those who wish to receive handouts, count forms, rare bird forms and maps should plan on meeting at the Woodland Basin Parking lot off Miller Road (in Garland city limits) at 7:00 am. We can see if we’ll be short of leaders or need to group more participants….below is a map of the morning meeting place.  (Printable forms and maps at bottom of this page).

32o53'38.03" N, 96o35'33.93" W

Please plan on meeting at the end of the Count at 5:30 PM at Furr’s Family Dining off of Saturn Road for our official tally and dinner (optional). Im looking forward to the Count since it was such a big success last season. Below is a map to Furr’s Family Dining in Garland:

We have been contacted by several Area Leaders and below is a list to date: Please advise me of corrections, additions, deletions as soon as possible… Thanks!
